ABOUT Cacao Sostenible RAYEN

RAYEN is a group of 27 Mexican cocoa producers that manage an area of 57 hectares in the Soconusco region of Chiapas. Their cocoa plantation is highly sustainable and provides quality Mexican cocoa.

The Sociedad de Productores de Cacao Sostenible Rayen, produces 100% Mexican cocoa, which means that it is harvested on Mexican land, by Mexican farmers, for Mexican consumption. Being a national product is boosting the economy, not only in Mexico, but also in the communities of this region in Chiapas.

The Sociedad de Productores de Cacao Sostenible RAYEN S.P.R. de R.L. (RAYEN), is a group that was invited to participate in the «Landscapes that Feed the Soul: Cacao» Initiative. This initiative is implemented by Conservation Mexico, in collaboration with the Autonomous University of Chiapas (UNACH) and other partners, and aims to rescue the production of native cocoa and chocolate consumption in Mexico. The cocoa has been subjected to an evaluation process by companies interested in purchasing its beans, including the Chocolate Museum of Mexico City (MUCHO), which has produced and sold chocolate derived from RAYEN’s cocoa. RAYEN sustainable cocoa producers promote the care of biodiversity and also improve the income of each of the cocoa producing families.
