Description about Metacao:
- We work to transform what already exists into a unique product, with cocoa collectors that are already working with Rainforest Alliance, taking care of the producers (RAYEN), the environment and of course the people who consume it.
- We care about people’s health and lifestyle, both with social responsibility and in favor of sustainability and the environment. We do not add any products that are harmful to health, such as sugar, trans fats or dairy products.
- We take care of our raw material suppliers, with a fair payment so that they can maintain a decent standard of living by working their land, thus avoiding deforestation or the sale of agricultural land for housing construction or migration.
- We work hand in hand with RAYEN to have a trinitario and criollo cocoa; and thus achieve our final product, without modifying or losing plots and the quality of the cocoa, respecting its origin as native cocoa from Soconusco.
- The cocoa production initiative seeks to rescue seeds of the Criollo and Trinitario varieties under natural selection to provide quality conditions and resistance to climatic conditions on 60 hectares and thus continue strengthening agroforestry systems.
