Our mission is to solve the challenges caused by the irrational use of natural resources in a climate-constrained world, through the sustainable use of energy, water, food systems and biodiversity, on a large scale.
We work with cattle ranchers to convert their conventional ranch to a biodiverse silvopastoral system. The producer provides the ranch, we provide the cattle, as well as expert support throughout the project, and we reach markets to ensure fair and timely payment to producers.
Through our production, processing and marketing operations, we seek to regenerate the countryside as a sustainable source of high quality animal protein and invest directly in the restoration of the Yucatecan rainforest.
Relevant sustainable practices at Ranchos Cuatro Ceibas:
- Restored pastures sequester carbon, attract biodiversity, capture water and improve the soil, contribute to stop and reverse the advance of the agricultural frontier through productive reforestation (70%) and assisted natural regeneration (30% of the total area of the property).
- More active animals, with diverse diets, healthier without hormones or antibiotics. Meat with less fat but more natural omega-3s.
- Humane handling and slaughter, in addition to being a bioethical mandate, offers benefits to producers and operators such as yield and quality.
